REVIEW OF ADINA AND THE CHARACTER BAND SHOW AT THE PARAGON LOUNGE

The much awaited Adina's Playlist came off last Saturday at the Paragon Lounge in Takoradi.

According to Kwame Farkye, the master-minder of the event, the purpose was to allow Adina perform her favourite songs to her fans. The event was partly supported by Paragon 99.9 fm and Adfocus media.

As usual, Made in Taadi brings you the review of the show but before we do that, who is Adina?. She is the reigning  VGMA Record of the year and Best Female Vocalist of the year holder.

High Moment:

 1. Lighting: Whoever was contracted to handle light effects for the show gave the organizers value for their money. The blend of LED stage laser lights brought life to the venue. Another positive thing about the lighting is the timing for the switch between bright and dim. Anytime the lead performer Adina left the stage and entered the aisle to interact with the audience, the bright light on the stage would immediately switch to dim, drawing patrons' attention to the diva. It was working perfectly as if Adina's body was a remote controller to the lights in the room.

2. Sound: The Character Band meant business. They actually came prepared. The sound the band produced during the two hours performance was superb. Until I entered the lounge, I thought what I was hearing outside was a pre-recorded show. The band has a future.

3. Dressing: The lead performer Adina did not disappoint in her beautiful African fabric. Her make-up was also on point. I think the host Chelsy Sey almost stole the night. Wearing all white jumpsuit dress, she proved that slim babes got vibes too. Chelsy was making our plus-sized women in the auditorium jealous. I think Snow B could have dressed better than what he wore.

4. Arrangement of Performances: No one could have opened the show better than Snow B. When it comes to live performance in Takoradi, I think Snow B stands tall among his peers. Adina also did well. From her first to her last song. The blend of the storytelling with the songs actually made the show lively.

5. Room Temperature: The temperature in the room was very comfortable. From the front seat to the guy at the back, no one was spotted sweating. The organizers did very well in regulating the temperature in the room to optimum.

Low moments:

1. Entrance: Paragon Lounge should quickly put a stop to their antiquated method of tracking attendance. In this 21st century, you can't be asking macho men to stand at gate and be hitting people's soft palm with wooden stamps soaked in GV paint. Not everyone wants others to know they came to Paragon.  If you intend to collect the tickets, find something better to mark patrons. A wristband won't be bad, Bishop!

2. Microphone:  It started when Snow B mounted the stage. The microphone went dead at the beginning. May be the Character Band must get a sound engineer because, the guitarist was the same guy in charge of the amplifier. It was quite embarrassing when the lead singer had beg for microphone from the the backup singer.

3. Voice: Adina is very beautiful. She has a great voice when singing, but her voice turns like sour ameratta when she decides to speak. I think she is suffering from similar condition which made Majid Michel switch profession from an actor to a pastor. I won't be surprised if I wake up and read that she's turned into a gospel singer since it seems that the new way of 'calling' by God lol.

I think in a whole, the show was great. With 20 cedis as gate fee, the organizers gave patrons value for their money.
