Kwabena Lyta Wins Big at Western North Region Anniversary Celebration

The leader of Sefwi Boy Movement, Kwabena Lyta has been adjudged 2019 Western North Artist of the Year at first anniversary celebration of the creation of Western North region. The event took place on the 28th of December, 2019 at Sefwi Wiawso, the regional capital. 

In an exclusive interview with Lyta, he revealed that the year 2019 has been successful for him since he got the chance to collaborate with top artistes like Fameye and Ypee.

He stated that: "aside this award, I was also honored with two other prestigious awards in 2019... one, the RTC Western Music Award Hip Life song of the year and second, a citation from my alma mater (UDS Navrongo Campus) for serving as an Entertainment Committee Chairman 2017/2018 academic year"

He thanked the Almighty God for the musical talent, the chiefs and people for the recognition and his teeming supporters for their continuous support in his musical career.


The award night was part of a three-day event which was organised under the auspices of key Paramount Chiefs of Western North region, namely; Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of Western Regional House of Chiefs, Okogyeman Kwaku Gyamprah of the Sefwi Chirano Traditional Area, Odeneho Brentum of the Suaman Traditional Area and the Beyeman Tano Kwaw Brembi of the Aowin Traditional Area

The event was organised under the theme Celebrating Western North for Economic Growth and Promoting Local Tourism.

Kwabena Lyta Wins Best Hiplife Song at 2019 Edition of Western Music Awards

Poster of Kwabena Lyta for 2019 RTC WMA Sefwi Boy Movement President Kwabena Lyta last Saturday was awarded Best Hiplife Song Title at the 2019 Edition of the RTC Western Music Awards which was organised at Best Western Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. His song Ngrakers beat top Takoradi-based artists such as Ayesem, Yaw Lucas and Aya in the Best Hiplife Song of the year category. His win is historic since he is the first artist outside Sekondi-Takoradi to have won that title. He picked the baton from the self acclaimed Fante Rap-god Kofi Kinaata who was the reigning champion. Lyta was nominated as New Discovery Artist of the year and Best Rapper of the year in the 2017 and 2018 editions of the RTC Western Music Awards respectively.
