COVID-19 Led To Cancellation of Sefwi Boy Concert in 2020: Management of Kwabena Lyta Reveals

Kwaben Lyta on Stage

The management of Kwabena Lyta have come out to reveal that their respect for directive by the President of Republic of Ghana on restrictions on social gathering was the main reason the 2020 edition of their Annual Sefwi Boy Concert was called off.

It would be recalled that on his May 31, address to the nation in 2020, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo directed that: "sporting events, festivals, funerals, political rallies and large religious gatherings such as crusades, pilgrimages and conventions will remain suspended for the time being. Nightclubs, cinemas, drinking spots, bars and beaches remain off-limits"

"Should any institution fail to adhere to these directives, its activity will be immediately prohibited and relevant sanctions applied," he warned.

Management used the opportunity to apologise to fan base of Lyta for late release on reasons that led to the cancellation of the event and appealed to fans to adhere to COVID-19 protocols and remain calm since the musician has lots of surprises for them in 2021 and beyond.

Apart from Kwabena Lyta, many renowned musicians cancelled their annual musical concerts, such as the Made in Tadi concert by Kofi Kinaata, Ashaiman to Da World by Stonebwoy and Reign Concert by Shatta Wale.

This information was contained in an exclusive interview we had with Baba Sambo, Manager of Kwabena Lyta.
